Hi,

I have a large group of standard size beams as blocks, they are on differnet layers in block editor than model space. I have changed every block to the correct layer using block editor for each one. Which is fine, however when I copy then to a new drawing they revert back to the original layer.

Help?!?

How are you copying them from one drawing to another? Are you WBLOCKing the block from the first drawing and INSERTing into the 2nd or are you ctrl-c ctrl-v or....

Also, have the blocks been defined in the destination file before?

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

I am coping using ctrl-shift-c and ctrl-v.

And yes the files have been in the destination file before. I deleted the old ones and copied in the new.

Thanks

easy then, you need to PURGE the destination file to delete the old definitions before you paste the new ones in.

Of course, thanks for that. Worked a treat!
