Hi

I am a beginner in using Autocad Lt and had an issue with hatching. I have hatched spaces within dwg's with completely different results. I wanted to show a light diagonal shading which I have achieved in later dwg's. In earlier ones though, an almost solid colour is shown. Although the scaling is not identical for each one, I have attempted to get them as close as possible but they are different drop down menus that I am selecting from. Any assistance would be be very much appreciated.

You could copy one (that has the scaling you want) into the other drawing and then use the match properties command (MA) to match the properties of one hatch to the other, giving them the same properties (i.e. they will then be the same).

Alternatively, just fiddle with the scale until you are happy with how they compare.

Use the inherit properties button about 3/4 of the way down on the right hand side in the hatch selection window.

but unfortunately is still does not work. Is there a toggle or icon that may have been activated that automatically ensures that controls the density of the hatching? It does almost give the impression of being preselected regardless of the other settings. Thanks

The drop down menu's aren't the only scales that can be used- you can highlight the scale and enter whatever figure you need. If you need to edit a hatch just double click and enter a new scale, or if you keep PROPERTIES open you can change the scale there.
