bobbillben Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Hello all, newbie here with possibly very stoopid question. I created several surfaces using a combination of 3d faces some with invisible edges, 3 of the 3d faces have all invisible edges and now I cannot select them anyhow! I cannot click on them to modify or delete them. I have tried the edge command but this didn't seem to work. It allowed me to set the edges as visible but the 3d face was still not selectable. I really want to delete them. I could do another drawing as it is only an exercise but it seems that it should really be possible to delete these faces some way and learning how would be useful. Any clues as to what I should do or am doing wrong please? Quote
bobbillben Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Managed to do it, don't waste your time answering! Quote
Cad64 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 How did you solve this problem? Can you share your solution for the benefit of others that may also be having similar issues? Quote
bobbillben Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Sorry, no problem, I put all the 3d faces I could select onto a different layer and turned that layer off, this left only the "unselectable" 3d faces on the screen. I then invoked "edge", selected Display and then All. I then selected a face edge and clicked on it, I then clicked on the delete icon and the face disappeared but (oddly) the now visible edges didn't. When I regenerated the drawing they disappeared. I had to invoke the edge command for every separate face (3 in all). This enabled me to delete the faces but I was unable to actually select them for any other purpose. I have only just started using 3d faces, having spent several years modelling with solid objects and it has been a bit of a learning curve. It involves a very different mindset! Quote
