Hello, I'm trying to PE an arc line and a regular line i drew. But it wont let me! First i type in PE, then I type in M for multiple, Then I select both objects and Enter, then I type in Y for yes, and then J for Join and after I'm finished they are still 2 objects and not one like i want... Anyone know what the deal is!? I used to be able to but not now... or at least with these 2 objects, oh... and they are both on the same plane.

PS: and already used fillet to make sure they are attached.

try using PE, select one line, then J for join, then select the other line.....I don't think there is a need for the M for multiple here

I just tried joining an arc and a regular lien using PE and was able to do it fine. Done only what you described which is correct.

Sometimes joining arcs can be iffy. If it doesn't work for me I usually grab a grip at the intersection (where it is to be joined), move the grip and then move it back using endpoint snap. Then try Pedit > Join. It usually joins after that.

If you are working in 3D arcs will not join lines because one or other is on a different plane. In PEDIT Autocad will some times tell you that one item was not added due to not being on current UCS.

Or

The arc is not recognized as a polyline, something I had a problem with before Remark replied with this answer..

The variable PELLIPSE should be set to "1". It is probably set at "0" (the default). This setting creates a true ellipse object. A setting of "1" creates a polyline representation of an ellipse.

Maybe your problem is related to something similar. I hope this helps.

Post up a dwg containing the line/arc.
