alijahed Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Hi All, I hope like previous one I learn lots of useful lesson from this one I have 2 solids beside each other with a gap in between. one got a hole and I need that hole on the other one on the same direction and same size. is there any way to use the existing hole and with a command make the same thing on the other one? Cheers Ali Quote
ReMark Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Draw a circle at the end of the hole on object 1. Move this circle to the object 2. Extrude the circle. You cannot "copy" the hole from one object to another. Quote

JD Mather Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I know this kind of way but thought there should be something about projecting that hole on the other one. Sounds like Autodesk Inventor. I set delobj=0 and put all 2D construction geometry (like circles) on a construction layer. Presspull command to drill holes. Quote

ReMark Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 JDM retains the original geometry (Delobj=0). Therefor he can reuse it as often as needed. In this case, the circle used to make the original hole can be used to create the same size/location hole in the second object. JDM prefers Press/Pull as opposed to the old Extrude command. There you have it. Quote
