missing properties box in 2006

This seems to be a problem that has no hard answer. When I select the object then right click to access the drop down menu, click on properties, nothing, no properties box, but it does show on the comman line _properties, so it has to be somewhere. I have tried just about everything I can think of, as well as other suggestions. So if anyone out there has a trick or suggestion, please, please let me know.

Maybe its off screen. Immediately after starting Properties, hit Alt+Spacebar, then M, then use your arrow keys to move it on screen. You also try changing the Display resolution (Windows) .

Thanks, gave it a try and all that happens it that the modify drop down menu just flashes very rapidly on the screen. I am pretty sure it is off screen, but no idea where!!

Try using a Profile - that will at least return the menus back to whatever that particular profile was set at. I know this will destroy your set up (if you haven't previously set a profile up for yourself), but at least you'll get it usable again...

I tried all 3 that were set up and all with the samre results. I might have to do a repair, or a total reinstall.
