Rendering - Large Scale

Hi, my boss put me in charge of finding a software of actually a way with Civil 3D to render let's say a whole project as a landscaping architects firm would do. So the trees would have a kind of textures as well as the grass and everything. They want me to produce something that is more than just technical that professionals need, it should be something that would be nice looking that clients that don't know cr*p about what we do would understand. I know that a lot could be actually done with Civil 3D with pictures from satelites and by adding textures on areas but my boss think there's better that Civil 3D to make it.

What do you think? Any tips, suggestions or advices? Thanks for your help.

He wants a 3d rendering or simply a full-color presentation of the plan view?

If a 3d rendering you can build your surfaces, create any necessary buildings, and then use the 3d tree blocks that come with the program.

If a presentation you can either create a pen table that will print in color as you desire or you can print to a black & white (or grayscale) image file (.png is recommended) then take that image into any raster graphics software to dress it up and add color.

I think Impression is for that sort of thing too, but I've not used it.

It is a presentation drawing he wants. Can you tell me what .png is for, never seen or noticed this extension before. Then you tell me that Impression would be a good software for what I want?

Thank you

I clicked the toolbar and it sent me to the autodesk site for downloading. I watched the video for it. Looks pretty cool. Too bad our sub went sour.
