When I try to run the spelling command in AutoCAD 2008, all I get is an AutoCAD message saying:

"No dictionary specified. Could not start speller."

I can't find where the dictionary is specified. Any ideas?

well it's AutoCAD

the first thing I'd try with anything like that is just type it at the command line and see if it spits it out

then the help menus are worth a quick look

Try Options > Files > Text Editor, Dictionary, and Font File Names > Main Dictionary (select one)

if niether of these work its possible that somehow your dctionary file got moved or corrupted and then you need to replace it.

Thanks Ipseifert for showing me where to find the setting.

See the screenshot below, looks like I don't have a dictionary anymore.

Does anyone know if I can just copy it from another version of AutoCAD or if this will take a re-install?
