I have been running Ver 2000 but having changed computers I appear to have lost the useful Grid/Snap/OSNAPS etc tabs that usually appear at the bottom of the screen. How do I restore them?

Thanks

Those tabs are part of the tray settings. Right click on a blank area of the tray and enable the tabs that you seem to have lost.

I have looked in what I think is the tray area which gives two options: ACAD and Customize in order to select the various tool bars but nowhere can I see how you set up the Status Bar. Where am I going wrong?

The tray area is at the bottom of your screen.

You do have some of the tabs still displaying don't you?

The only tabs on view at the bottom of the screen are Model,Layout1 and Layout2. It then goes into the DOS command area.

Then you lost everything that would normally be at the very bottom of your screen under the section where the command prompts are displayed. Right?

What is the system variable TRAYICONS set to? This variable determines whether or not a tray is displayed. The setting should be "1".

That is correct. Nothing showing below the command lines

Did you check the variable I mentioned above yet?

Please note that I am running AutoCad 2000 and the variable TRAYICONS is not listed under the command SETVAR.

Do you have a title bar and menus at the top of your screen? You're not running the Bonus Utility called FULLSCREEN are you?

I think we need to change terminology. For 2000 I believe the area we are referring to was called the Status Bar Menu.

As a last resort you can try typing TOOLBAR. Sorry but I do not have 2000 loaded and I'm trying to work from memory at the moment.

Another option to try is to maximize the AutoCAD window on the screen and see if it appears.

Yes, I do have the Title bars and Menus at the top of the screen and I am not running the bonus utility. Have tried typing in Toolbars but it just brings up the standard selection. Yes, Staus Bar is in fact the correct terminology for Ver 2000. I do thank you for your patience and assistance on this one and it would be very helpful to get it sorted out. Presumably, the problem is finding which of the listed variables displayed under SETVAR controls switching on the Status Bar.

Bingo - Maximising the screen brings up the Status Bar. You have cracked it!

Many thanks for your patience and help - Reg

You're entirely welcomed Stainer. The answer I must admit is not entirely mine. Long time member fuccaro proposed it some time back in response to a similar thread so I must give credit where credit is due. However, I wish I had stumbled across it much earlier in the course of our back-and-forth conversation as it would have saved wear and tear on my fingers. LOL
