Ive been digging around the SW site and thinking about takings the exams. I noticed looking through the faq's that the CSWP, CSWP - surfacing-sheet metal-fea exams are non-proctored. But I remember reading here the CSWA exam is proctored. From there site I can purchase the CSWA exam but the more info button links me back to the SW site. Anyone know for sure if this associate exam can be taken from a personal computer without a proctor?
thanks

My understanding is they are no longer proctored. There has been a lot of debate about a decline in the value of the certs among other things as they have drastically changed the format.

Have you taken them in the past? I did all the practice exams they offered and if they are a good representation they seem pretty straight forward and not really all that difficult. If they don't mean much anymore thats really unfortunate.
thanks for the info

I have not. My understanding is that the new ones far less intensive- you might find this link helpful:

PM me if you don't have access to the SW forums for whatever reason and I'll pass along the content of the thread. There's some good info in there regarding changes that have been made to the test. I'd be very interested to see what the 'Elite' cert is all about particularly with all of the comments regarding the first exam not being comprehensive.

The CSWA is fairly easy. the only thing I didn't like is the emphasis on CosmosExpress. most users don't really like it or use it professionally.
