I have a simple question (I think)

I am trying to plot using a ctb file, and there are objects in colour green which I need plotted green while everything else is grey.

Problem is that some of these objects were drawn on another layer and then placed on the correct layer at a later stage. So now when I try plot, these objects are not plotting in green like the objects which were created on that correct layer in the first place.

All the objects show that theyre on the correct layer but Im sure I recall someone saying that its not as simple as that.

Help please?

Set Those Object Colors To 'by Layer' & Set The Color Of That Layer 'green'

It May Work

Thanks Dipali. I have done so but still no joy.

If it helps, in paper space the 2 objects show as the 2 different shades of green. (Green and Colour 82)

The colour 82 shows up as such when plotting but the green does not.

The layer colour is set to Colour 82 and when I select any of the objects they all show as being on that layer. But yet still plot incorrectly.

choose the objects which are green & change them to bylayer.

if you don't want to do that simple solution will be edit your ctb. go to file>plot style manager & open the ctb you are using. thn selct color 3(green) & for teh color under property choose 'use object color'

Hi Dipali

I have changed the objects to bylayer after the first time you suggested it but no luck.

My problem with your second solution is that there are other objects on the drawing which are color 3 (green) which I need to plot grey. This is my reason for changing the objects to color 82. But for some reason they will not plot as color 82, they plot as color 3 and therefore grey.

In summary, Autocad is not allowing me to change the colour of certain objects from colour 3 to colour 82.

Thanks

if those objects are part of the block than you will have to edit block to change them to color 82 or make it 'bylayer' so they will adopt the property of the layer they are inserted in.

That didnt work either for some reason. Dont worry Im sure Im just missing something.

I just redrew them all on the correct layer.

Will fight this issue next time it pops up :)

Thanks Dipali, much appreciated.
