salman Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Is there some simple method to align an object to x or y axis as required. Thanks. Quote
chulse Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 ORTHO maybe? ...depends on the type of object. What specifically are you trying to do? Quote
chulse Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 ...or Rotation in the properties dialog (set it to 0, 90, etc) Quote
salman Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 I simply want to align an object to the current position of x or y axis as may be required. The UCS may not be world coordinate system. It may have been aligned to some other object but when aligning the new object I do not want to give the refrence of some other object in the drawing, but simply use the current position of x or y axis. chulse Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Ok, I think you lost me here... Could you just set the UCS back to World? Quote
rkent Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 example: move, pick, enter, osnap to endpoint, (use xyz filters) .X, enter, 0,0 , enter, (at command line reads need yz), 0, enter. In the above example you are wanting to align to the X axis, leaving the YZ axis location the same. Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Look into using grips. With ORTHO on select your object. Select a grip to make it hot, cycle through your options til you get to rotate. Select reference, select first point, select second point, and then select along the axis you want it rotated to. Quote
