i'm starting to learn 3d modeling but i can't draw objects in side views. for example: i drew a circle on the top view and i want again to draw circle on the front view but it won't, its face is still on top view. i try to rotate it but still not working.

what shall i do???

You need to change the UCS mate, which is the X Y and Z directions. Make sure you change them so that your in the plane you are working in.

Make sure you can see the front view you are using.. Tools > New UCS > 3 point.

Then just set the directions for X Y Z on the face you want.

To get back to the original UCS just do Tools > New UCS > World.

One way in 2009 to change the orientation of your UCS is to click on the View tab and look at the options available on the UCS panel. A second way is to use the ViewCube. You have to be in something other than 2D wireframe mode for the cube to appear. There is a third way but at the moment I have brain lock (not enough coffee yet) and can't recall it. If it comes to me I'll post back with it.
