Now that we have figured out how to line the text up in my previous post I wanted to throw out another issue I have been having, to see if they may be an easy fix for it.

So here's the deal... I import Microstations drawings from a couple of clients quite often that have lots of individual text lines within the drawings. They convert over fine, and look perfectly normal, within ACAD. My problem is the greater majority of these single lines of text have huge space gaps in them... i.e. it could be a single line of text with a couple words in it, but it looks like somone held down the space bar right before the exited out of the text editor... Is there any quick way to rid the drawings of this? Right now I have to hope I catch this during the drafting, which I know I am not catching them all. It would not be a big issue, however when I convert the drawings over to Microstations before sending, these gaps make the text shift all over.

can you post a sample to take a look at?

here is a pic of what it looks like when I double click on the text to edit it.

The only way I know of would be to edit each one and remove the spaces manually. A pain I know. Maybe my "out of the box" hat isn't on right today.

Maybe someone that knows lisp has a solution for it to be done quickly. If I had to do it the hard way I would at least have only the layers on that had the text on it.

Sorry I'm not much help here. Good luck.

Could you not use the "find and replace" feature?

Find characters = double space.

Replace characters = (empty entry).

that might work and I've used that method before with success - both taking spaces out and adding spaces in.
