Signs Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Hello, I need some detailed information on the lengths, size of boxes, text, etc. that I need for Title Block for mechanical drawing. I am drawing frames of trucks and I am not sure how to start drawing a title block. I tried looking for some free downloads on Google but no luck there. Any free tutorials here on how to draw Title Blocks and what size to use, length of lines, etc.? I took several AutoCAD classes more than 3 years ago and have forgotten a lot, so any quick tips will be appreciated. Thanks~ Quote
chelsea1307 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Size depends on what you have avaliable to plot with. you dont want to make a 30x42 title block if you cant print anything bigger then 11x17 Quote
dbroada Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 it also depends where you live. If you are in Europe you will need metric frames rather than imperial. Quote
Signs Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 I live in Alaska, which is part of the United States. I will be printing them on standard letter size paper. Quote
LifeoRiley0 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 In ours we have a place for our company logo, a place for an engineers or sub-contractors logo, a place for a stamp (if needed), a table for drawing revisions, an area for project name, address and floor, an area for drawing specifics (drawn by, scale, date, etc.) and an area for the drawing number. Pretty basic stuff. This is all in a template (.dwt) and we modify it as necessary. I have attached a sample of ours....it's nothing fancy but gets the job done. Drawing2-24x36 48.pdf Quote

Signs Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Thanks. Is there a tutorial on how to create a Title Block? Quote
frankreid Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I have all the ANSI drawing formats (title blocks) for the US mechanical world and I would gladly send you an A-size or C-size, which both will fit on an 8-1/2 x 11 horizontal plot page. Contact me off site at frankreid07@gmail.com Frank Quote
