Assemble parts....

Hi.

I have a quick question... When in Inventor 2010 i press "new" i can choose between Drawing and Part... But in all the tutorials I have seen when they press "new" the have a option called "Assembly" and then you can put toghether all of your parts...

I have made some parts now, and i want to assemble them. Do i do that? When "Drawing" is a cind of 2d and "Part" is (i guess) only single parts...?

assembly files have extension .iam, I usually use new standard(mm).iam for my assemblys, but there are others if you use imperial units.

But when i press "New" i only get Standard.dwg, Standard.idw and Standard.ipt

Where can i find the file extending your pointing at?

sounds like your pressing the arrow next to the new button, I think.

Try pressing file>new or pressing the actual new icon, you should get a vast array of different options to open

can you take a screen shot of what you are seeing. Im running 2010 and when i go to new i have everything there.

Are you running Inventor or are you running Inventor LT? Post screen shot as suggested.

How much training did you get?

I dont have the app on my computer. It's on my work computer.

Yes it is LT.... And i found a file whit the .iam on the server, and when i tryed to open it the app said it diden support that file...

I have no training in this app... All i can is what i learned by myself..
