rkmcswain Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Sure, just insert a FIELD. See this link for details: http://cadpanacea.com/node/11 Quote

Ryder76 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Try Rtext with a diesel expression. Been a really long time since I used it - I would have to learn it all over again if I didn't have fields. Quote
tgm4548 Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 thanks alot. that worked. and this date will update everyday or do i have to do type in an update command? Quote
rkmcswain Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Sorry, I was looking at your "join date" and saw 2009. I thought you were on 2009.... No fields in 2002. Quote
tgm4548 Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 i got it to work with rtext but when i opened the file this morning none of the date were there. like someone opened my file and deleted them. Do u know why this would happen? Quote
Ryder76 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I don't have a clue about that, but hopefully someone will come along soon and enlighten us both. What layer was it on? Frozen or Locked? Quote
Ryder76 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 How did you create your text? I went to express tools, selected remote text; then, diesel. When the dialog box opened I pasted this in it: $(edtime, $(getvar, date),DDD"," DD MON YYYY - H:MMam/pm) It gives you---------------"Tue, 16 Jun 2009 - 10:07am" You can edit the string to show what you want. Got edtime from the help file under diesel functions. Quote

tgm4548 Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 thats the way i did it. i found one of the date stamps after i asked up the question. i think during the updating process something got screwy. on a side note can u send me a link for autocad 2002 express tools? i accidentally deleted it from my add/remove programs list a while ago and i can't find it on autodesk.com. thanks for ur help.
