dinarele Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Hi, all, I have a problem... everytime I open the drawing, which has any dimensions in it, several of dims get streched through all the screen. I mean, that one of the dimension attachment point attaches itself to any random point on the display. So, everytime i need to print the drawing, I have to look for displaced dims and reattach them to points again. Does anyone know, how to avoid this? Thanks Quote
dinarele Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 I don't know, could you tell me how to check that? I haven't made them annotative, as I remember... but might be... Quote
AVITWeb Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Just check the properties of one of them. It is in the list. Then go into your dimstyles if they are and make sure that ANNOTATIVE is not selected. Quote
dinarele Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Thanks, checked. They are not Annotative, but some of them are Associative. Quote
dinarele Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 Please, help someone... i still have this problem... just opened the drawing and again need to reposition one end of the dimension, because it was somewhere outside the plan limits, just fixed itself in the space.... Quote
deres Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I am wondering...are all your lines at 0,00 elevation, or they have differnent Z coordinations? This is a common problem... Quote
dinarele Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 I think yes, I checked, all z values are 0.00... can it be because the dimension is associative? and when you have just temporary line to put the dim on, everything is ok... after removing temp line, the dim doesn't have any geometric object to associate with and just fixes itself anywhere...??? nocturne00 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Yup, after you delete an object it was associated to, it will just be a plain non associated dimension in space. have you tried to delete the original dimension, re-dimension the object, save, then reopen? if so, does the problem still persist? sometimes I get this problem if I open a file saved in previous versions of CAD with newer versions. Give us a feedback on this Quote
dinarele Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 Now I made all dimensions non-associative and tried to reopen the drawing several times, seems fine, didn't find any more 'streched dimensions' If someone wants to know how to make dimension non-associative: select dimension, type in 'dimdisassociate'. Thanks for everyone's help:) Quote
