Meagan11 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Hello all: I have a drawing from another company which i did work on, however the work i did on it, they have now lumped into their layers, but i need it seperated back out so I can make edits to my portion. I am not familiar with the edit xref manager and i was wondering if someone knows a clear cut way to get it onto its own layer and then i can work with it Thanks again meagan Quote
chulse Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I would suggest you select all your work (objects) and use WBLOCK to export them to a new drawing. Then xref the dwg's together...keeping your work completely separate. Quote
Meagan11 Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 Ok I was able to use the refedit command and select the nested object i wanted to edit and then delete it. I needed it deleted out, however when i select the nested objects is there a way to put them on a certain layer, because i guarentee on the next submission they will do it again so if i put it on a certain layer then i can keep it if i need to, just turn it off. Thanks again Quote
AVITWeb Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 You can subtract it from the Xref. This will place it outside of the XREF and into the current drawing that is referencing the other one. The icon has a minus sign (-). Once it is out, you should be able to place it wherever you want and whatever layer you would like. Quote
