paulwoody Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I have the need to create a Block which displays some content in one viewport and different content in another. For example I have 600x600mm light fittings in plan view one one drawing detailing their size and location and on another drawing I need just a simple point at the centre location which I will then dimension up. Anyone think of a way to do this? At present I have to place two blocks at the same location on different layers and configure the viewports to display the corresponding layers however if one block is move you have to remember to move the other. dbroada Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 can this be achieved with dynamic blocks? (I'm not sure that you can.) Quote
paulwoody Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 I know I can create a Dynamic Block which enables me to set the visibility of entities but as far as I am aware this does not let you choose different visibility states for different viewports. Anyone else got any ideas? Quote
NBC Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Why not create one block with all the entities within the block on the differing layers that you require. Then you can VPFREEZE the layers you don't wish to see in the relevant viewports. Quote
paulwoody Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 I thought of that but the problem is I need to place these blocks on different layers and take on the properies of the layer. Because of this I need certain entities on Layer 0 within the block and this is where my problem is. If I have entities on Layer 0 then the layer the block is sat on needs freezing to hide those entities but that completely hides the block and thus the 'other' entities I want visible Quote
NBC Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 In that case, you will be restricted to using 2 blocks Quote
