stevo99 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Hi Folks, I have a problem with hatching and polylines. I have an arrow that was initially a tapered polyline however whenever I plotted it the arrow printed as just the outline with no fill. I tried drawing a triangle for the arrow and hatching it, again the fill didn't print. Dimension arrows etc print fine. I tried the fillmode command but that only changed the dimension arrows and had no effect on the arrow in question. Any ideas?? Steve Quote
stevo99 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Try .1 for the hatch scale. I'm using a solid hatch so shouldn't make a difference, but I tried your suggestion to no avail. There must be a setting somewhere in the plot settings as It looks fine on screen and just won't fill in plot preview, or plot. Also as I mentioned if I use a tapered polyline, I get the same result. Is the arrow head a user block ? No it's a primitive object in my drawing. I just tried using the dwg to pdf driver in case it was a printer setting or something but it still does it. NBC Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 When you select your viewport, and open the properties dialogue box what value is your shade plot set to ? Quote
stevo99 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 When you select your viewport, and open the properties dialogue box what value is your shade plot set to ? It's set to "As Displayed" The objects in question are in paper space. If I draw them in model space, the fill plots OK. My tutor told us to draw these symbols in paper space as they are for layout purposes only. IDK if this is standard practice or not. Cheers Steve Quote
NBC Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Ok then, what is the Visual Style of the viewport set to? If you set it the Shade Plot of the viewport to Wireframe, does it preview how you desire it ? Quote

If you set it the Shade Plot of the viewport to Wireframe, does it preview how you desire it ? It doesn't seem to make a difference. The VP style is 2d wireframe. I edited my last post as you were replying to it. Does what I added make any difference? I suspect yes because you're suggesting changes to vp properties. Quote
stevo99 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 I found it. In the page setup manager I had selected to hide paperspace objects. When I uncheck this the problem goes away. Thanks for your help. Quote
NBC Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 No worries, glad you got there in the end. I think I was on the right track, but I didn't realise these were paperspace entities causing the non-desired results Quote
