atb1984 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Can files saved in ACAD 2010 be opened in AcAD 2008? I know in previous versions you could not open files if they were saved in a more recent version. Is this still the case with Autocad 2010? I'm currently running ACAD 2008 and some other designers in our office are running 2004. Quote
Tiger Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 if I remember correctly, 2010 will be a new format yes, so no, you can't open 2010-files in 2008 without the user of 2010 doing a save-down to your format. edit: (http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/autocad_2010qa_final.pdf) - says that yes, 2010 is a new format. f700es Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Remember you can download and install the TruView app from AutoDesk to view and save back 2010 files to earlier versions. Quote

Way better than every release a new file format. I am fine with a 3 year cycle. This is better than just about anybody else. Quote
