Parameter Blocks

I am trying to create a parameter block, however my hardship is this. I can get it created, but when I insert it into a drawing I have to explode the block to use the parameters. I got this idea from another drawing, but cannot figure out how to create the parameter block without it becoming essentially two block into one.

I have same problem, I think ACAD MEP 2008 is causing this.

Good to know at least I'm not the only one. I still can't figure out why we bought MEP instead of Architectual.

qbi I have figured it out. So simple to, now I feel like an idiot. Here is what to do. Create the device you want to turn into a block in model space, then type BEDIT command (you'll get a dialog box), select . This will take your drawing and open it in block editor. From there add what you need and then save it. When you insert into a drawing you should not have to explode anymore.
