The Courage Dog Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 hi, we are submitting a drawings to civil defence department (e.g. fire compartmentation drawings, fire protection drawings, etc..) , my question is there a British or American standard layers for fire drawings (i.e building elements like shafts, lobby, corridor, stairs, fire rated wall, doors & windows, sprinkler head, ducts, fire dampers, etc..)....thanks:( Quote
nukecad Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 We do this sort of thing for the Nuclear industry in the UK and although they have their own layering standards they are quite loose and they leave provision for draughters to use any LOGICAL layer names. eg. Walls, Stairs, Doors, Escape Route, etc. As far as I know there are no set CAD layering conventions in the British Standards; but I'm sure they will be working on one so they can sell it at an inflated price. kencaz Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 The NFPA puts out a library of cad symbols, which may have additional standards information, however, it's kinda pricey http://www.nfpa.org/catalog/product.asp?title=Fire-and-Life-Safety-CAD-Symbols&pid=WBCAD08PDF&target_pid=WBCAD08PDF&src_pid=17006&link_type=up_sell&cookie_test=1 KC Quote
