Emily_83 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Hello all, another help question, i am wondering if anyone can help me in regards to editing Fields in the Sheet set manager, what i mean is i have around 50 drawings and i have entered all the information required on the job eg. REV No, DATE, PURPOSE, DESCRIPTION etc.... and now that that is done is there a way to edit (Rev up, change date etc) multiple drawings like maybe in the form of an excel spreadsheet, that will then update all the drawings Automatically still. i just think it pointlees if having to click on each sheet in the sheet set manager and change the info a million times over. any takers?? 29xthefun Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 X ref anygood? Draw the fields in its own drawing and then xref into all others, so when you need to change date, Rev no etc this will only be done once and updated to other drawings. Quote
chelsea1307 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 you could also create a custom field for those and then still only have to enter it in once and it will update all Quote
Emily_83 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 hi 29 Yes that is an option, but one i don't really want to use due to Standards organisation way of things. :-) Chelsea, i am using the Custom Field and thats what i thought it did, but for some reason it's not updating them?? do you know what i am missing?? Cheers Emily Quote
chelsea1307 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 have you done a feild update after making the changes? Quote
Emily_83 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 do i have to do that for every sheet or is there an option to update multiple?? Quote
chelsea1307 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 if the drawings are closed it should automatically update when you open them, if its open you can do a regen and it will update them or fieldupdate or i think qsave also works (i cant use fields at work so i havent messed with them in a while) Quote
