I cannot get the Dimension space command to work properly with Annotative dimensions. When I activate the command, the text moves but the dimension lines stay in the current location.

Mark Kurdi offered this advice over at the AUGI Forums in response to a similar question. No idea if it worked for the OP as he never posted back. Take it with a grain of salt. Good luck.

"The most likely reason is that you are using a dimension style with the text placement (on the Fit tab) set to Over dimension line, without leader."

Thanks, I tried changing the setting and I still got the same result with only the text moving. I think the problem is assocaited with the Annotation. In our office we are currently not using Annotation, So with the non-Annotative dimensions the Dimension space command works great. The only modification I made to our current Dimension style was selecting Annotation under the Fit tab. I'm trying to get a thorough understanding of Annotation so I can present it to the office and begin using it.

Sorry the suggestion did not work out. :( If I stumble across anything else that might be of interest I'll post back. Good luck. And if you happen to come up with a fix on your own please let us know. Someone else is bound to come along with the same question.

Check something for me? What is the variable DIMTMOVE set to on your system? Mine is "0". I just set up an annotative dim style and tried to recreate your problem. Unfortunately (?) I couldn't. The dimension lines and text both moved. I'm using 2009.

Nevermind. I was hoping DIMTMOVE had something to do with it but I don't think it does. There is one thing more I'll ask you to check. Do a LIST on one of the dimensions. When the text window comes up look down the info provide until you get to the line that says Dimension styles overrides. What, if anything, appears below it? Thanks. Sorry to be such a pain.

Okay, Listed below Dim Style overrides:

Annotative: yes

Annotative scale: 1/8"=1'-0"

Acutually that's what the problem was. DIMTMOVE was set to "2". I changed the setting to "0" and it works great. Thanks.
