I have never been closer to throwing this d*mn machine through the wall!

Every time I open AutoCAD, some completely new, completely different, and completly random element decides to stop working or just do whatever the h*ll it wants.

Yesterday my system crashed everytime I tried to do a DDEDIT on a paper layout. Today I did a quick pdf and progress print of a cabinet and the cupboards and shelving up above the tv just decided to disappear; front doors are just hanging in mid-air! I've purged, I've audited, etc....

They're on the same layer as all the other woodwork so they can't be frozen or turned off in viewport. I can come up with NO EXPLANATION for this.

This is going to cost me work- I can't send out partial drawings with random pieces missing!

I don't know if it's Windows, AutoCAD, or my machine (I'm convinced out IT consultants do nothing more than play guessing games with any problems)...but this has GOT to STOP! HELP!!!!!

Have you tried repairing the installation?

I'll second the above just because of the variety/frequency of problems you have experienced.

It's either that or wipe the slate clean and start over from scratch.

I agree with the guys before me. Although IT folks can be very helpful most of them are clueless when it comes to ACAD. Not their fault really. AutoCAD is just a very complicated software and requires someone that is willing to specialize in its 'issues'. Most IT folks aren't interested in AutoCAD.

I second the motion, "IT folks are clueless.... when it comes to ACAD."

As ReMark and Car5858 stated, "Try to repair the installation."

I haven't had any issues, maybe a few small ones, with ACAD.

Usually it's, "Set it and forget it."

Keep others off your work station. It tends to get personnel.
