NoobSurveyor Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 my elevations are not being calculated from the RAW file after reducing the traverse. in the field, we chose to use slope distance and vertical angle to develop elevations for each shot, then entered the notes from the fieldbook by hand into the RAW file editor. the program will develop the coordinates for each shot, but the elevation column is completely blank. i've turned on all the options for elevation that i can find. does anybody know anything about C&G and why it isn't processing elevations for my points? NoobSurveyor Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 on top of that, the unadjusted traverse closes to 3/1000 ft, a precision ratio of about 1:411,000 which is ridiculously tight. to good to be real i suspect. then after adjusting it using the compass method, the closure is 14/1000 ft, or a ratio of about 1:89,000. how could field work produce such great results, and how could an adjustment make the closure worse? doesn't make any sense... chulse Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I can't help with your issue, but you really should include the software package and version you are using. Quote

That is because you are entrusting the adjustment to a machine. Personally, I always adjust by the method of least effort Quote
