kswanson02 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Hi, I need an AutoCAD symbol for an air vent in a water distribution system. Could anyone direct me to a place where I can find that information? Thanks.. Quote
ReMark Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 What's so special about an air vent on a water distribution system that it could not be designated with a line, topped off with an arrowhead and the word vent above it? Is it a safety related device? Quote
Ryder76 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Or you could go to the vendor website find the dimensions and add a circle, square or rectangle with the aforementioned leader and text. Quote
Tankman Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Pipe, couple of elbows, what are you venting to? Indoors or outdoors? Pipe out the roof? Wall? Chemistry might require a conservation vent, equipped with ball check valves; i.e.: air in, air out. Quote
kswanson02 Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 Thanks for all of your advice. I ended up going with a circle symbol with hatching to reflect a screened air vent. Quote
rkent Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Hi, I need an AutoCAD symbol for an air vent in a water distribution system. Could anyone direct me to a place where I can find that information? Thanks.. I think it would be important to find out what type of vent is needed for your application and show the proper industry accepted symbol. Is it meant to be a manual vent, pressure relief, automatic air bleed, etc? Every discipline uses and relies on symbols for their language to convey to others (a particular audience that is knowledgeable of this discipline) our exact meaning for each symbol. Quote
