david Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Could someone tell me how to improve my drawing. It has unwanted lines which i have put red circles around.I drew it as separate parts then used the union command to make it one.Is their a better way to draw it.Appreciate all answers.David PREMEXPORT.dwg Quote
nocturne00 Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 as a remedy you could just slice off those unwanted extensions, these sometimes happen when your parts aren't snapped on properly. I think a better way to such an object would be to model Half of it first, since its symmetrical, then just mirror it. then union them. Quote
ReMark Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 If you look at the overall construction of this "bin" there appears to be a couple of triangular shapes along with some other odd shapes. It seems as though you may have had some gaps that you tried to fill in. Overall, I would say this is not good technique. Let's review. Your bin has two sides, a back, front, bottom and a lip (at the front) for a total of six pieces. You could have constructed one side piece then either copied it or mirrored it (that takes care of two of the six). The other four pieces could have been drawn and extruded. Then you could have assembled all the separate pieces and unioned them. That's one approach. Quote
ReMark Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Are the sides of the bin supposed to be at an angle? It doesn't appear that you have given all the required dimensions (A, B, C...). It also doesn't appear as though there is a uniform thickness. Is that so? Quote
