Dirty tablet

Am using a standard Calcomp tablet with an Autodesk plastic overlay taped on top.

It sticks now or then. Don't slip.

If I wash off the tablet surface it goes fine then. It happens to me once per day or maybe once per year. Nothing consistant as for time ranges. I have tried the spray bottle stuff, but simple soap and water works better and faster. The S&W is dried before I get stuff put away.

But,

What can be done to eliminate some of this cleaning up, and get it so puck will slide around on the surface easily and only stick maybe once per two months.

tablet? whats that? ..... just kidding, but I am supprized to here of someone using one :)

I dont think there is much you can do about the cleaning, such a tool is always going to collect dust and finger grime. As fas as getting it to slide a bit better, might try some felt tabs on the underside or something.

Or perhaps the little stick on plastic thingys?

I haven't seen a tablet being used in years. :D

Another tablet user here. I find that cleaning the bottom of the puck solves most of the problem. An infrequent cleaning of the overlay with glass cleaning fluid is all I do.

I tried the little felt fet. They kept snagging upon the edges of the tablet overlay.

Windex?

I tried Formula 409 etc. and it disolved thign fast, but took an extra five minutes to dry, and then...

Never thought of glass cleaner. Too obvious. Got a bunch of the blue stuff around here. Hasn't been used in a long time though.

I find that the felt feet are great for picking up the pollutants in the air we mostly fail to notice (thanks to our nose hairs). In my office this is mostly carpet fibers. I clean the three pads about once a month (just scrape them with a fingernail).

I want one now

I like the ones plugged into back of computer, as they have large buttons, and if you are hard to see, only then need to be approximate on accuracy, and the command works then. Stops the up and down thing of you head with my eye glasses.

Now, line used to be over here.... I think. Nope. Now, looks as though it is over here now.
