Selection Box Issue

Sometimes I find it necessary to use my scroll wheel to zoom in and pinpoint for a corner of a selection box.

I find that for both forward (blue) and back (green) selection, that if I zoom in to pinpoint my selection area, the previously selected attributes that go off screen as a result of the zooming become de-selected.

I've only experienced this in the later versions of the package (06 onwards) as prior versions remembered the selections, irrespective of zooming.

Is there a setting known to other users?

If there is a link to a previous explanation of this topic, would love to read it.

I hope I've successfully explained my dilema as it is a bit difficult to exlpain in text only.

out of habit (as I disagree with this not happening in earlier releases) I now zoom to pick my first corner, zoom and pan to pick my second corner and then zoom out before completing the selection process. I have never found that previous items become deselected if visible but have noticed that they do if not on the screen.
