Offset command typing error?

I have four users using AutoCAD Mech 2006 and occasional having an issue with the offset command semi reversing numbers when typed. When choosing offset sometime the numbers will semi reverse for instances typing .1875 ends up .8751. It appears after the decimal point is placed the number 1 moves behind the other numbers typed even though it was entered first. I can only reproduce this once it start happening to them and only on their computers. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this gremlin?

Have you tried reinstalling AutoCAD? I can't say I've ever come across that issue and we did use 2006 for some time.

have you also tried typing the 0 infront of the point?

does it still move your numbers when you do that?
