MisterJingles Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Hi guys I have a problem (obviously) I have a legend (a block) which I copied from one drawing into another. I think it also brought the layer which it was on in the original drawing too. When I want to turn this layer off, only part of the legend disappears while the rest (the icons) remain. If I select one of these objects they show as belonging to the layer which shows as being turned off. I have tried creating a different layer and moving the legend to there did not solve my problem, it still happens. Any ideas? And yes I did try explode it and placing each object on the new layer but still nothing. Quote
SPARKY77 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I know you said you exploded the block (the legend) but are the icons also a block Quote
GE13579 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Rather than explode the block, go into BEDIT, change all the block to layer 0 and save. When you PURGE after this does the unwanted layer disappear? Quote
MisterJingles Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 Sparky - Yes the icons were also a block and I did explode them and try allocate them to the right layer but no luck. GE - I will try that and report back. Thanks Quote
jammie Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Freeze the layer instead of turning it off it A block on a frozen layer will not be redrawn when AutoCAD regenerates regardless of the layers contained in it Quote
