chillrender Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Hi to all can any body help me regarding this scenario, i have attached an xref in my new cad file, then i copy the xref, so there is two xref now in my cad file, it is possible to off the layer in xref1 then it will turn on in xref2 in model mode, i know it is possible in layout mode, but it is possible in model mode? Thanks chill Quote
NBC Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 The only way to do what you are wanting is NOT to copy the xref. You would need to delete all duplicat copies of the xref, so that only one instance of the xref remains. Then change the name of the xref (using RENAME or something similar); then you would need to insert the xref again. This way the same xref will be in your drawing, but it would have 2 different names; and thus differently named layers. Quote
Zorg Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Probably be easier to block out a section of the xref than copy it around. Best way around your problem if you're using viewports will be to freeze off the layer in one viewport and leave it shown in the other. Quote
NBC Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Not sure I agree with you Zorg; maybe the OP has a reason why 'he' is using xrefs, and wants to continue to do so. Quote
