Selective reducing of pen lineweights

Hey,

Been experimenting to no avail here; I need to reduce a set of object's lineweights uniformly to suit a smaller scale print of the drawing. Problem is that most of the drawing is ok as it is, and i only want to reduce the lineweights of a couple of details. Is there a quicker way to achieve this in lieu of selecting components of the detail and shifting them down a notch manually? Even quick selecting layers and moving a bunch at a time is still tedious.

Cheers!

Sure, what we do here is when we select a smaller page size is while in the Plot Dialog Box we make sure the "Fit to Paper" box under Plot Scale is checked, and under that check the "Scale Lineweights" box.

This produces just an exact replica of the plot, just at a smaller scale, lineweights and all for "reviewing" purposes. :)

Indeed, this is an option if the whole drawing is to be scaled uniformly, but my intention is to only reduce one or two details displayed through their unique viewports, leaving the rest of the drawing unaltered. This idea came to mind when I drew a 1:25 detail that ended up becoming more suited to 1:50, thus all the line weights became twice as thick resulting in the need to thin them all down. Not a huge problem that time but I’m sure the problem will haunt me eventually should I overlook it.

Ah, well that will not work as smoothly. Sorry. :(

In this case you need to change the color of the layers ofr that particular viewport only. the option ois avavilble in 2008 version onwards. make that viewport active & open layer manager you will see added options to change colors & other things for that viepwort only.
