Devilinity Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 i have 2 eclipse thats trimmed together and i want to join it as a whole object so that i can revolve it ... so anyone know how? i can can't seem to pedit/join it ... Quote
ReMark Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Check the setting of Pellipse. It should be set to "1" otherwise you will have no luck with the ellipses. An eclipse is a totally different realm. Think celestial. Quote

lpseifert Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 As an alternative to joining, you could make the 2 'eclipses' into a Group, they'll then act as a single entity. Quote

Another method to combine ellipses (or splines) together or with lines, arcs, plines, etc. is the Region command. Regions work well with Revolve and the other 3DSolid operations. The one caveat is that the geometry must create a closed loop. Quote
