Missing hatches

I copied a legend from one drawing to the next. It all copies except the hatches. Inside the drawing where the hatches will not paste, I have drawn a rectangle and tried to fill it with a hatch. I do not get an error message, but I also, do get the a hatch. Chances are you need more info to help here, but I don't know what that would be. Thanks for any thoughts.

These are not standard AutoCAD hatches?

Yes, they are standard hatches.

What method did you use to copy the legend?

Maybe the layer the hatch was on was locked?
