kubber Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 can it work in the 3D environment (for example to overlay existing bathy and proposed dredged areas and use the program to calculate volumes and develop sections)if you can take DTM data and generate the numbers and drawings that I need Waiting Quote
ReMark Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 That's a pretty tall request of plain AutoCAD. I think you would have to have either an add-on program or a pretty sophisticated Lisp routine to accomplish the task. Quote
nocturne00 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I think Civil3D is the program you'll need. the DTM data it could be input to create the topo in civil3d, then specify the station points for w/c part to take the cross/long'l sections from, volumes can also be computed based on the 3d models generated. but this software will require some training to even get started with it Quote
kubber Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 Thanks for response. 3D Civil in actuallytotally new for me so i willneed a hardpractice, If anyonecan do a Lisp or add-on program for thatwillveryhelpful for mywork. Quote
stevsmith Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Not to sound cheeky, but just to come rightout and ask for someone to write a program like that will never happen on this website. This website is designed to help people learn Autocad and it's "tricks of the trade", and must not be confused as a freeware software site. Quote
JM16A2 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Dredging? I know this has nothing to do with your problem, but are you working on the Hudson River Dredging Project???? Quote
