Breaking out out closed areas

I have started a new job and we have a process that is very unusual that we use ACAD LT to do. We draw designs in 2D lets say very similar to a jigsaw puzzle. We then disconnect (for lack of better words) each piece into an individual object to cut. We make several copies of an entire object and use trim or erase functions to separate pieces which takes a long time to do. I have tried hatch and hatch edit to copy and move sections out then recreate the boundaries. This takes some work also. Is there a way to easily separate or break out all enclosed sections of a drawing into individual parts quickly?

Have you tried BPOLY? If you made a boundary polyline inside each shape, then you could move apart each shape easily.
