Organic Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 On opening a large file today (which I have used many times before) it said there was 70,000 errors in the file and asked if I wanted to recover or close it. I chose to close it, reopened it and there were 28 errors. Closed it, reopened it, still 28 errors, althoguh I proceeded to work on it. All was going good until later when I began looking over the whole file. Blocks have been affected, althoguh only some. Some blocks are fine, others are destroyed in a sense. First off, all layers in the drawing are on, all layers are unfrozen and unlocked, all vport overrides have been disabled, drawing has been audited, purged, and the problem still occurs. This drawing has 50 paperspace layouts in it. As mentioned above, some blocks are fine. However in most blocks, all the text has gone as has most hatches. These were on different layers as well in the block. The linework for the blocks is fine. I manually replaced a couple of blocks and got them working again, althoguh there is almost 200 blocks in this large file. I do have backups I can get most, if not all the blocks from, it will just take a while. Any suggestions or anything? Quote

We had stuff like this going on and it turned out to be a hard drive going bad Quote
Organic Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 The file wasn't on my harddrive, but on the company sever which stores everything. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 have you got a backup copy of the file that you can work from? if not, i wuld copy the drawing now for backup purposes. then next time you open it run an AUDIT and a PURGE on it. Quote
Organic Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 I either a) try to repalce all the blocks affected in the latest revision drawing b) go back to the previous revision (3 days earlier) and copy/paste the work compelted from the newer affected file (that new work is is fine). I think I will go with b, so that I do not risk there being more problems that I have not noticed. I tried auditing/purging it, tried recovering it etc... Nothing works. Quote
