JBuchanan Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Hi, I am using AutoCAD 2006 and have had this problem a few times now but managed to hide it up until now. I have a box which i want to hatch in a solid red colour but when i hatch the box it completes the process all okay but then seems to produce a line or several lines in some chases of the same colour as the hatch outside of the hatch area. I have checked that there are no breaks in the box etc. Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem before. Thanks James Quote
StevenMc Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Where is the hatch in relation to 0,0 ? i've found that if my hatch isnt quite near 0,0 then it can be distorted. try moving it nearer to 0,0 if possible. other than that im stumped mate Quote
JBuchanan Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 I will try and move it closer to 0,0. I dont think it is that far away from it at the moment to be honest. Are all hatches relative to point 0,0? Quote
ReMark Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Hatching outside of an area can sometimes be an indication that there is a gap where two lines would normally meet. Although you say you have checked how closely did you look? Quote
GE13579 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Would the hatch work if there was a break in the box? I thought it had to be in a completely enclosed area anyway, otherwise it wouldn't work? I assume you're using BH command? Quote
ReMark Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Hatch could still work with gap if the fuzz factor setting was set accordingly. I least I think so. I'm really good about closing up geometry so "escaping" hatch only happens rarely. Thank you OSnaps! Quote
GE13579 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 If it is the case then the OP could PEDIT then join with a sufficiently large fuzz. I've only seen it go haywire before when it was associative... Quote
