Saving and ETransmit take a Long Time

I'm using AutoCAD 2008 and working on drawings with 10 - 12 xrefs. In the past week it's taking about 2 minutes to save and eTransmit these drawings, where before they worked fine with hardly any delay.

Can anyone tell me what coud be causing this delay? I have not installed or done anything the computor.

Are you working off a network or from your local machine?

it generally takes a minute or 2 to compile everything for e-transmit. granted, it's about 20ish mb when i'm finished and it's several files. i hope, in 2010, they update e-transmit to include data shortcuts.
