area to text tool

Hi there.
I'd like to ask how can I extract text from polyline area. Idealy scaled by some factor (drawing in milimeters conver to to area in meters).
I need to write a lot of areas of some room etc. into them and i want to know if there is another possibility than select polygon note the area and make text...
I'm unsing AutoCAD 2005 CZ.

8) Should be possible, don't if there is anything autocad directly, but this can be achived in either LISP or VBA

Thank you for your answer. I took a look on the plug-in you postted, but I don't know how to instal and use it.
Also I'm afraid that tool si for v2000.
