Dim Update

Is there a system variable that only allows dimensions and leaders to update only to their respective styles and not change to the current style.

I am working on a drawing with multiple scales that was created by someone else. I made some changes to one of the dimension styles and then typed "dim" , "update" , "all." All of the leaders and dimensions then changed to the current dimension style.

I have done this update before in other drawings and this didn't happen.
