Dissapearing blocks?!?!?!?

Hi All

Been a long time since i last posted here, so a big hi to all.

I have a problem with some block dissapearing i can select the blocks using qselect/filter. in some occasions i can make the block return by re inserting the block and forcing redefine.

I have also tried block editing the block but nothing is visible in block editor either???

I have done the obvious thawing layers etc.

Anyone any ideas?

Could the block just have a bad insertion point? I have a few locks in our loibrary that were made by someone else that I insert and can't find. Turns out that the insertion point is well to the left and beloow the actual block. So it has been insereted, but you can't see the durn thing.

Have you tried making a copy of the drawing, qselecting the block in question, deleting it and then reinserting? You could have duplicate block names with one overwriting the other.

Thank you for your reply

Its not the insertion point, these are all still in the correct location.

If i rename the block in the drawing and insert a new one it comes in fine. doesnt explain why the old one has dissapeared tho!

Ohh, such block problems have been pestering me for quite some time as well. It's really annoying, what I have done in some cases is open both drawings then open both blocks in each drawing in block editor, then copy all the good block components in the bad block editor window, previously deleting all the bad components from the old block (if there are any), then save the block, maybe that helps. :geek:

Make sure that there are not odd symbols in the block file name...same goes for spaces....Also make sure that none of your stuff is on the defpoints layer...

And make sure that if they are on the 0 layer (or anything in them is) that the defpoints layer is NOT frozen.
