spursnutter Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I am struggling to understand the North Direction and Angle properties. How do these work because I can never seem to get it right. There is also the marker that is left when you select a location which looks like a pin with a cylinder head. I assume that by default this will be left at 0,0,0 co ordinates no mater which time zone I pick. What I dont get is how the sun emulates from that. If the pin is at 0,0,0 does that mean that is where the sun shines from?? Quote
ReMark Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 As I understand it the North Direction and Angle are used primarily for the purposes of shade studies and serve to orient the drawing correctly. North Direction sets polar north. Setting polar north can be done in one of three ways: 1. Click and drag the north arrow (the circle with the thick bar in it). 2. Enter a value directly into the box labelled Angle. 3. Click the Select tool to indicate true north visually. Quote
mugshot Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 just a suggestion.... just let it to the default angle... sometimes theres also an affect of the time with the angle shadows of the sun... try setting first your time, if not satiesfied go either +90 or -90. hope it helps you. Quote
