Hello everbody,

In autocad 2009 What's the use of "Geographic Location".

this is an international forum, which throws up some interesting technical hitches occasionally - particularly wrt units for dimensioning, or when those who work in construction ask about building control regulations

entering your geographical location saves us having to ask further questions before answering your original question

EDIT: ignore me - no idea why 2009 would want your geographic location

Thanks for your replay Strix,

Can you explain little more.

Nice "bluff" answer there Strix.

From your AutoCAD 2009 Help files:

Graphic Location

"Geographic location embeds location-specific references – expressed as real-world coordinates (X,Y, and Z) – in your drawing."

And this as well...

"When you add a geographic location to a drawing, a geographic marker is created. The geographic marker is a visual representation of the location information and is created at the specified point on the drawing."

Further details and examples can be found in your Help files by using the Search feature and typing in the words graphic location. The above information was taken from the topic Overview of Graphic Location. There are at least 6 more topics dealing with the subject.

I realize AutoCAD Help is not very highly thought of as it seems to be written from a programmer's perspective and not a user's. It is also difficult to find pertinent information as well. I usual try the Index tab / keyword search first. Failing to find anything that way I then move to the Search tab and try again.

Bottom line: give Help a chance first then come here.
