due1989 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Hi, I'm a student and I've got this crazy curvey design that I modeled out in SketchUp. The basic shape I'm working with is a cylinder that's been cut diagonally up and down, and then rotated to some angles. I exported the plan view of this to AutoCAD (Sketchup is the only way I could get the shape, which is a warped looking thing). The thing is, SketchUp circles are more like polygons, and so I've got these things that look like circles from far away but they're really not. Does anyone know if AutoCAD has a fuction that could smooth this out? I tried the Fillet tool but I don't really know how to use it. Is this even possible? Quote
f700es Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Can we see the shape? Honestly, I love SU but AutoCad can handle curves much better. Quote
Brands Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 If I remember correctly, AutoCAD 2009 (witch u are using) has a butten for that on the ribbon. Look in the meshmodeling tab. Just as in sketchup you can smoothen the object. Quote
due1989 Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 I actually fixed it using the spline tool, and i just went point to point and then deleted the original shape (as soon as i ask a question i always figure it out... grr). but thanks! Quote
