SteveSy Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I have a block that I want to bolt a bearing to. I don't see a way to do this with the designer. I can place a bolt through an existing hole and add washers and a nut but I want to be able to place a bearing in the mix also. Is this possible with the designer? Quote
shift1313 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 What is this block now? Have you loaded a bearing block from the content center? Or is it really just a block? Quote

It's a block I made with holes in it. I just want to place a bolt through the bearing and then through one of the holes in the block put washers on it and then a nut. Quote
shift1313 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 when you are using the bolted connection wizzard all the components must be there( i think). However you can load bolts from the conent center and place them yourself using constraints. When you are in an assembly you have the Place and Create buttons. The place button has a drop down and will have Place from Content Center(or something along those lines). You can place your bearings, washers, bolts and nuts using this method. Quote

SteveSy Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 Bearings do not have the correct classification to work with the Bolted Connection Design Accelerator. Thanks. The above post helped me out, it was almost as easy doing it that way. Inventor is extremely easy to use. I think I've got enough of the basics now to figure out all of the easy stuff. I went in to it thinking I was going to have a huge learning curve, but most is simply constraints, content center and point and click. Oh and the best thing was sketch doctor. Thanks again for helping me with my silly questions. Quote
